Whether it is a hearty meal at mid-day or the finest traditional cuisine for dinner in an environment overhung with the aroma of exotic spices, the Shangri La is the place for eating out in style at Gangtok. The Shangri-La Dining Room also offers a selection of European and Asian set menus. The dining room is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The wood panelling, chandeliers and lithographs add to its old-world elegance and charm.

    The Lounge is located in the Lobby level. Guests can enjoy tea or a quiet drink in front of a roaring fire. The Tea Lounge offers service from 11 am to 11 pm.

    The Dragon Bar is cozy and well-stocked in a range of Sikkimese drinks like Tongba (Millet Fermented Beer). The bar is draped in ethnic Sikkimese style with thankas, traditional carpets, wall hangings and orchids and shrubs.

Sikkimese & Nepalese Cultural Dance

The traditional Nepalese and Sikkimese dances are celebrated with great enthusiasm and mirth in the hills of Sikkim. Sikkim is credited with its tea garden, the Temi tea garden and many lip-smacking and mouth-watering local Sikkimese and Nepalese dishes. The Elgin Nor-Khill offers one with an opportunity to be acquainted with the various delicacies of the Sikkim Hills. Experience the grandeur of Sikkim at The Elgin Nor-Khill. Guests are welcomed during evening by ladies and men dressed in traditional attire. The artists take you through a musical journey of the hills of Sikkim, with a commentary describing the importance of each rendering. Guests are encouraged to participate in the dances with the artists, helping the guests with the dance rituals. The service team is also dressed in traditional Sikkimese attire. Cuisine of Sikkim is rich and unique as many other Indian cuisines. Influence of Nepal and Tibet can be clearly seen in the cuisine.
